Last year was not gone well for the smartphone market leader Samsung, but 2015 should all be better off with the Galaxy S6 and its sister model S6 Edge. As the now published quarterly figures show this desire of the Koreans was not fulfilled. A decline in surplus by 8 percent compared to last year is not good, even if the bottom line is still an increase of 5.75 trillion won, which works out at about 4.5 billion euros.

Ironically, the smartphone division is responsible for a large part of the decline. Here profits declined by 38 percent, which is significantly stronger than the overall group. Sales of the Galaxy S6 not seem therefore to be good enough to lead this business forward again.
On the quality of the smartphone, it can hardly be that both the Galaxy and the Galaxy S6 S6 Edge are technically at the level and were also in the test reports achieve top marks.
